Our own site was hand-coded and the crew could not change a word of it. Every copy fix and every new field note went back through a developer. For a studio that publishes after most jobs, that is the wrong shape.
The research behind the rebuild set the bar. 80% of a B2B buying decision happens before the first call, and over 70% of energy decision-makers start their research online. The site is not where the work is won. It is where a referral gets confirmed or lost.
The layout runs on a gutterless 5-column grid, 1600px wide, with content starting on column 2. A fixed overlay draws the column lines behind every page, so the grid is visible rather than implied. Sections separate on background colour and 1px rules instead of padding.
Everything editable is a CMS collection. Case Studies, Field Notes, Services, Industries, Team and the home page ticker all render from Webflow collections, so adding a project or a crew member is a form, not a build.
No markup was pasted in. An earlier attempt at this site pasted hand-written HTML into embeds and Webflow rewrote it, turning buttons into links and stripping data attributes. This build is native Webflow elements throughout, which is why it still edits cleanly.
Breakpoints were built, not inherited. Tablet keeps the 5-column grid while inset text spans go full width. Below 992px the fixed hero panel gives way to the film playing inline, and a phone loads a smaller file so a job site connection is not carrying a desktop video.
9 pages, 6 CMS collections, and a Work page where every project is tagged by sector and filterable in 1 click. Publishing a field note is now a form and a publish button.
Alongside the build: copy written to a sector vocabulary standard, structured data for search, Open Graph images on every page, and the design system carried over from plus15.ca so the studio's own brand did not drift in the move.
