Elan Construction is building the Tsuutʼina Medical Centre on Tsuutʼina Nation, southwest of Calgary.
Elan brought us in to document the build while it runs. Not one shoot day at the end, but repeat visits that follow the job from the first footings onward.
The work is still underway. This page covers the job to date and grows as the building does.
Drone passes record the footprint from above: the curved line of footings that sets out the building, the material staged along the site edge, and the highway approach.
On the ground we followed the pours. A KAEWEST boom pump placed concrete from BURNCO mixers into formed footings and pedestals, while the crew worked vibrators through the rebar cages.
The coverage follows the structure as it goes up: steel columns standing on the pedestals, a crew working from a scissor lift, a telehandler moving material, and the first floor joists going in.
Later visits followed the timber. A crane and telehandler set the roof trusses onto the steel, crews worked from scaffolding to land each beam, and by mid-September the roof deck was closing in.
A 2:29 project recap film, branded as an Elan Construction video, and a 59-second progress update in 4K covering the first part of the build.
Edited stills from each visit, shot from the ground and the air.
Progress updates continue as the structure goes up. The next phases are added here as they are shot.
